Bob's impressions: This jacket is warm. I have worn it only to maybe the low twenties (F°) but its performance under these conditions has been exemplary. There have been times when my hands are freezing cold and I warm them up in the pockets of the jacket, just after I've taken off a fleece I had underneath the jacket because I was getting too warm. It should be noted that I'm a big guy who generates some heat.

The jacket packs down nicely, but it's not an insignificant volume, It occupies a good portion of the top-lid of my Baltoro 70. The shell seems a trifle delicate so if I wear it on the trail I try to be very careful not to brush against grabby-rippy things.

The jacket is simple and well-made without a lot of bells and whistles. It just works. It better, because some places charge a lot for it, but there are always deals to be found on clothing items if you take the time to look around.
