Hummocks Trail Mt St Helens

Turn by Turn:

-- The trail either begins or ends near the southwest end of the parking lot. We headed out this way and followed the loop clockwise.

-- There are a couple of very short spurs, one of which, at about 1.7 miles into the hike, ambles over to an overlook of the Toutle river and nice views of the mountain.

-- From there the trail begins to ascend, passes some interesting tiered marshes. Then ascends again.

-- The trail ends at the northwest end of the lot.
