Directions: From Interstate 5 at the southern end of the San Joaquin Valley take exit for CA Highway 58 west to Buttonwillow and McKitrick. Follow CA 58 for almost 44 miles to Soda Lake Rd. Turn left (south) on Soda Lake Rd. and head 9.7 miles to the signed right turn onto the dirt entry road for the Overlook. Follow the road as it circles behind the prominent hill to the parking area.
Synopsis: A quick climb to a viewpoint overlooking Soda Lake. Look for wildflowers in season.

Trail Notes: Views are reported to be best when there is water in the lake reflecting the Temblor Range to the east.
Turn by Turn:
-- Find the trailhead on the hill side of the parking area and follow the trail as it climbs a few yards to a saddle between two mounds. There is an interpretive plaque here and a bench.
-- Turn right to climb the straight trail up to the overlook area.
-- Retrace your steps to your car.
